What are the best naturist beaches? We’ve been to a few, but still many are on our wish list and we plan to go there.
How will we rate beaches? In a very subjective way. We will write what we liked and what we didn’t. Honestly.
What is important to us? It’s important to understand because you may have different criteria. For us, peace, closeness to nature, surroundings, cleanliness, and atmosphere created by people who stay there are super important.
Koversada, Croatia
Koversada is not only a beautiful beach but a whole naturist resort, the size of a small town. For us, an absolute top one and a default point in holiday plans.
Sunset at Koversada naturist beach
What we love about Koversada:
- The most beautiful beach is on the island. The island is the most important and wonderful element of this natural resort. Overgrown with old pines, without cars or houses, it makes you feel in touch with nature. You can also pitch a tent on it and spend your entire vacation here.
- You can live in the resort without leaving. You can buy everything on-site in local shops when it comes to food and rentals when it comes to sports such as bicycles or water bikes.
- You can eat well here. Our favorite place is a Batana fish restaurant, with delicious food, especially seafood, accompanied by a beautiful view. There are more possibilities in the resort, like pizzerias and burgers.
Cons:
- The biggest part of the infrastructure had its heyday in the 80s. Especially in the cottage part – Koversada Villas. But I must admit that the sanitary facilities that have been renovated are at the highest level
- Few attractions for children
- Most of the beach is rocky or concrete.
Haulover Beach, Miami, Florida
Pros:
- Miami. What can we say? If the beach is in such a wonderful city, there will always be something to do in the evenings.
- Beautiful, light blue ocean, sand, palm trees, the atmosphere of this place is fabulous.
- This is a really big beach.
- The skyscrapers right next to the shore make a wonderful impression. All in all, a normal view of Miami Beach, but unique when it comes to other beaches
Kasia at Haulover Beach
Cons:
- The biggest and only downside is the strange guests looking for adventures hanging around the beach sometimes. They can be pushy sometimes, they treat naturism as an invitation to something more. Rare, but when met, they will ruin your day.
Valalta, Croatia
Valalta is also not only a beach but a whole naturist resort, as big as Koversada. It is also a place where you can spend the whole vacation without getting dressed even once.
The beach is concrete and rocky in places, such as in Croatia. Lots of sunbeds and umbrellas
Waiting for a dinner at Valalta Nudist beach
Pros:
- A swimming pool is an excellent alternative to the sea
- Lots of attractions for children and more. Slides, inflatable water park
- A lot of shops in the resort, including clothes
- Yacht harbor
- Many choices of good restaurants
- The wonderful historical town of Rovinj is nearby, full of restaurants, with a historic fortification, and a large number of shops. Possibility to go on boat trips around the beautiful Croatian coast
Cons:
- A bit loud and crowded. It may as well be advantageous for the young, because it is a bit more party-like and commercial than, for example, in the peaceful Koversada
Ulika, Croatia
Nice, medium-sized naturist resort, with cabins, camping, and its own beach.
We, enjoying hammock on Ulika nudist beach
Pros:
- A large swimming pool within the resort is available to everyone.
- Some cottages have their own small pools.
- The historical town of Porec is nearby, where you can go out for a good dinner, go sightseeing, or catch a boat trip
Cons:
- A bit louder than Koversada. Something like a smaller Valalta
- Ugly beach
Cap D’agde, France
This beach, or a whole town, is a Mecca for naturists from France and Western Europe. The long, beautiful sandy beach of Côte d’Azur. The warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Guaranteed summer weather. You can’t wish for more. But this place is a bit different than most naturist resorts. When going to the last part of the naturist beach, you have to be ready for what you will see and not take younger family members there. Among the many nightclubs, you will also find much more frivolous ones. This is not our vibe, because it doesn’t align with our idea of naturism. But the fact is that such places have many fans.
Pros:
- Wonderful scenery, sand, blue Mediterranean sea, the long, wide beach stretching for many kilometers
- It is a small naturist town, with apartments, cottages, shops, and restaurants. Everywhere people go naked, and there is a nice atmosphere
- The French have the fastest railway in Europe, so you can be teleported here from Paris by TGV in a few hours. Communication in the town itself is also great, so you can go here without a car
Cons:
- The French have not spoken other languages for centuries, waiting for the world to realize its mistake and learn French. You may not be able to communicate in English at times
- This place is too bold for us. It’s not what we’re looking for. Great to be here once, but we are not planning to go back there
